ずっと前からあるこの不思議な菓子パンは、魔除けになると信じられたり、キリスト教と昔ペーガン教の祝日であるイースターの時期以外に作ることを禁止されたりしました。古代エジプトとギリシャとのつながりもあるか・・！

イーストを使用した美味しいパン生地に、自家製ミックススパイスと自家製オレンジピール、カレンズとレーズンなどを加えて捏ね、オーブンに入れる前、表面にイースターをお祝いする十字を絞ります。

横半分にスライスし、トーストしてからバターを塗って食べるのがイギリスらしい召し上がり方で、特に美味しいです！

今年はこの販売と発送スケジュールになります：

- 3月2日月曜日、午前11時に販売スタート（発送は3月4日から）
- 3月10日火曜日、午前11時に追加販売（発送は3月12日から）
- 3月17日火曜日、午前11時に追加販売（発送は3月18日から）
- 3月24日火曜日、午前11時に追加販売（発送は3月27日から）

この６個入り商品はお店で焼き立てのお受け取りできるのは、4月3日金曜日「グッドフライデー」の午後15時〜17時の間のみとなりますのでご了承ください。

3月14日と4月4日のオープンベーカリーの時にも、予約なしで焼きたてでバラバラで販売します！

A Christian tradition, and centuries old, with possible links to ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, and the Pagan month of Eostre, hot cross buns have been variously lauded as magical and were even banned outside of religious holidays. They are as popular as ever in the UK today, particularly around Easter, with many British families enjoying them for breakfast over the long weekend.

Studded with candied orange peel and flavoured with our house blend of mixed spice, we make our hot cross buns by kneading currants and raisins into a rich bread dough, shaping them into little buns and marking them with a cross before baking. Marvellous sliced in half, toasted and served hot and spread with butter.

Here is our baking/posting out schedule for this year:

- Mon. March 2nd 11am, first batch of buns online (sent out from March 4th onwards)
- Tues. March 10th 11am, next buns online (sent out from March 12th onwards)
- Tues. March 17th 11am, next buns online (sent out from March 18th onwards)
- Tues. March 24th 11am, next buns online (sent out from March 27th onwards)
- Tues. March 31st 11am, next buns online (sent out from April 1st onwards)

If you choose to collect this box of 6 buns freshly baked in-store, pick-up will be available just between 3pm - 5pm on the afternoon of Good Friday, April 3rd.

We will also sell freshly baked buns individually and without pre-payment at the Open Bakery days on Saturday 14th of March, and on April 4th.
