There is no coffee in it, nor does it taste of coffee! The naming of American 'coffee cake' a bit confusing to many British people, but comes from the fact the cinnamon and brown sugar flavoured sour cream cake goes extremely well with coffee. Of course excellent with its namesake, also fantastic with tea.
