イギリスで11月5日は"bonfire night"又は"Guy Fawkes night"。火薬陰謀事件という1605年11月5日に国王ジェームズ1世を爆殺する陰謀をいつまでも忘れないために、毎年寒い中イギリス人は花火を打ったり、ボンファイヤーで集まって特別な食べ物をシェアーなどの日になります。このレッスンはそのフェスティバルの食べ物を作って持ち帰られる。Yorkshire Parkinとは、オートミールが入っているしっとりでスパイスがきいたケーキ。長く美味しく日持ちするので、もう一つの名前は"cut and come again cake"要するに、今日少し切って残りを保存し、また明日戻ってもう少し切ってから...食べきれるまで^ ^ このクラスは6名までです。作ったお菓子はお持ち帰りいただけます。

In the UK on November 5th each year, people celebrate the failure of the gunpowder plot in 1605, by letting off fireworks, burning effigies of Mr Fawkes (we can be quite scary sometimes! Hmm), and eating lots of hot, sweet and sticky foods, of which this spiced cake made with oatmeal and brown sugar is one. Another name for this cake-which is wonderful with tea, by the way-is "cut and come again cake". This is because it keeps wonderfully, getting stickier and richer with time, and so you can cut a little piece, wrap it back up, come back again the next day and cut another piece... We'll also make toffee apples while the cake bakes! This class is for up to 6 people.
